Built by operators, for operators.

Seven generations of hardware. Eight years of operating discipline. One operating system.

WeDrink began with a question: why does automated beverage at scale look so much worse than the rest of automated retail?

The founder, John Loong, came to that question from an unusual angle. After Georgetown and a career between McKinsey New York and Credit Suisse, he had built and operated consumer brands across Asia and Europe — Bisou Beauté Group, GlossyBox China, Huali Florist. The pattern was always the same: hardware was the easy part. The system around the hardware — supply chain, brand discipline, operating playbook, daily reliability — was where companies lived or died.

2018. The first prototype.

WeDrink was founded in 2018. The first BevBar prototype deployed at AEON shopping malls. The unit ran for years. It produced two outputs: revenue, and an operating playbook no competitor had.

COVID. The hardening.

Three-plus years of compressed deployment, shifted priorities, and operating discipline tested at every layer. The pandemic delayed expansion — but accelerated everything that mattered: food-safety engineering, unattended reliability, the case for automated beverage in a world where human contact was no longer assumed.

Through that period, we refined dispensing geometry, modular construction, and food-safety engineering. Ozone treatment and UV sanitation became standard across the fleet. Pharmaceutical-grade plumbing and TRITAN tubing throughout. The kind of standards beverage majors require.

The software layer.

Fleet monitoring. Predictive maintenance. Supply auto-replenishment. Then WeDrink Care — the consumer surface that turns every BevBar into a touchpoint. The hardware became one face of a larger system.

Generation Seven.

The current architecture runs four product models on one operating system: Beverage, Coffee, Snack, and Frozen. Fifty-plus active deployments. A custom-built unit at Coca-Cola Greater China headquarters. Three at UWC Changshu. Strategic operator partnerships across multiple Chinese provinces and Hong Kong. Active expansion discussions across Greater China — including Taiwan — and into the Gulf region, Japan, and Australia.

Hardware was the easy part.
The operating system is what we built.
